5th – 8th (Middle School + Confirmation)
At Shepherd, our Middle School ministry is also our confirmation ministry. “Confirmation” is a special ceremony our congregation holds where a youth publicly “confirms” the faith of their baptism–that they believe in Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and they intend to live a life befitting that faith. Each month our middle school youth:
- weekly lead and complete family devotions,
- monthly participate in a Sunday class with one of our pastors, and
- gather with the entire middle school youth group for a service project or some fun.
Contact Karin at kpatterson@sotdaz.org for more information and specific calendars for each of these activities.
SHEPHERD KIDS
Middle school students meet on the first and second Sunday of every month during the 9:30am worship service on our Mountain View campus. They are also welcome to volunteer in our classrooms the rest of the month to help build relationships with the younger Shepherd Kids! Please contact our Shepherd Kids Coordinator, Heather Pelanne at hpelanne@sotdaz.org for more information.
9th – 12th (High School)
Leader: Pastor John Karolus |Â pastorjohn@sotdaz.org
Pastor John leads our relationship-focused High School Ministry. Through an encouraging text thread, meet ups over coffee or lunch, and check-ins throughout the week, our group stays plugged into their faith and maintains a connection with Shepherd from near and far. For more information, or to be included on the text thread, contact Pastor John! We will also be continuing our tradition of meeting once a week after school for coffee at Trailhead Coffee (located inside McDowell Church).
