Hope Eternal
We don’t experience time like God does. Yet, He asks us to be present and be eternal at the same time. Certainly that’s a struggle, but also our great hope. Paul said in I Corinthians 15, “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” Nothing says Be My Valentine Forever like that offer of eternal life from our Beloved Savior! So, the hope of eternity colors each day. I have an old Valentine with raised red flocking (remember those?) from my grandma. It reminds me of the hope of spending eternity with her and all those I love. The fact that God has planned eternity for us is just about overwhelming. In the Luke 6 passage, Jesus was speaking to great numbers of people and healing them. Those troubled by evil spirits were cured, and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all. Jesus must have felt more holy freedom, preaching, healing and casting out Satan after 30 years of holding back. Jesus had to be patient, like us, for God’s timing. But, when God said the time was fulfilled, wow! Power was coming from Him and healing all of them! I imagine heaven will be like that – everyone living in the perfect power, love and glory of our One and Only. I’m praying we all experience the love of Christ and His power in our lives, this Valentine’s Day and right through to eternity! — Tracy
