Readings: II Corinthians 6:3-10, Matthew 9:9-13

Talk about change! Our three-year-not-blooming church orchid has bloomed for the second time in under a year. A little lighting change made all the difference. Just wanted to share the good news! In Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, he recounts the costs of sharing the ultimate Good News. Paul most impressively, yet humbly, set an example for us in living for Christ. Please read II Corinthians 6. Marvel, and be inspired. He says, for example, “We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love. We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense. We serve God whether people honor us or despise us…” I want to bloom with that purity, understanding, patience, kindness, and love through the Holy Spirit that Paul recounts. Jesus provides the incentive to change so we can fulfill His will and uphold His people. The Lord wants us filled with His light and love so we can help others on their journey. It’s been said if you keep your face toward the sun, you won’t see the shadows. Let’s all keep turning to the Son. Then we can grow and bloom like our splendid orchid. A little lighting change can make a beautiful difference. In God’s light and love, Tracy
