Readings: Deuteronomy 30:15-20, I Corinthians 3:1-9, Matthew 5:21-37

I’ve come home with glitter on my boots the last three Tuesday nights. That’s a sign of a good time with the women of Shepherd of the Desert! Pastor Scott has been teaching us about Proverbs 31. Brenda and her helpers decorated the tables with glittery beauty, and Andrew provided delicious food. When I took my shoes off and saw the glitter, I smiled and took great joy in serving our Lord through setting up and cleaning up for His wonderful women. I wonder if Moses took joy in setting up and cleaning up for God’s people. He was the key to setting up a relationship with God, and cleaning up after the people were disobedient. In Deuteronomy 30, Moses was approaching the last portion of his speech to the Israelites before he died. He could not emphasize enough that they needed to choose the Lord, choose life. He said, “You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him.” He would say the same thing to us today. We can choose each day to love and obey our Lord. When we are committed to Him, there’s joy in glitter, hope in garden dirt, peace in notes to heart-broken friends, unconditional love for our families, and growing faith in any circumstance. Choose life, friends! Blessings, Tracy
