Worth what?!
I accidentally placed my arm in front of a store scanner and it beeped. I smiled at the clerk, then apologized for scanning myself. The clerk said, “You rang up at $1.47.” What?! I blurted out, “That’s disappointing. I’m cheaper than I thought I’d be!” Maybe God was reminding me my worth comes from Him and not the world. I thought of Romans 12, “Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment…” Subsequently, I read from James 1 above, “Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.” I don’t want to forget what I look like. I look like a child of God. As a result, when I’m open and the Holy Spirit shines through, my heart even looks like Jesus. Do you believe we are being transformed into His likeness? The correct answer is yes! (See 2 Corinthians 3:18.) Don’t listen to the world if it says you are worth $1.47. Listen to the Word, do what it says, and find your true worth. You are a priceless child of El Shaddai, God Almighty. Jesus chose us and scanned us and said, “I love them! I’ll pay the price.” Worthy through Christ, just like you, Tracy
