My cousin likes to recall family events by starting a story and calling on someone else to finish. “I’ll never forget the time our cat played with a threaded needle and swallowed it. And then what, Mom?” Facts stated, she wants others to join the conversation and tell their version of the story. God invites us into family stories, too. The Lord wants to teach us through Bible stories like King David and his sometimes dysfunctional family. We can see how God intervened and gave them victories, and watch as others lead them off the path of life into the dark woods of sin. Some Bible stories show us how to walk the path of life, others highlight the consequences of straying.

The Lord invites us to remember our own stories as we walk His path, too. We may look back and see how God intervened when we met our spouse, or recovered from illness, or made a friend. The Lord may be starting a new story with us right now. He invites us to join His conversation. Our Father might need to reiterate the facts for us if we are hesitant to take the next step, or misstep like David.  “I am with you. I have given you everything you need for this situation. I forgive you. I love you.” And then what? It’s our turn to finish the story well. Thanks for telling your story. We are watching your progress with hopeful hearts. We keep each other in prayer and support one another on this path of life. And then what? Heaven knows! ~Tracy
