During Advent we wait for the birth of a very special Baby. We are filled with fresh hope and joy every year. This Advent season has a wonderful double meaning for our family. We are waiting for the birth of a special baby that will become a part of our extended family through adoption. We are filled with great hope and joy, ready to welcome this new little one into our world. During these busy days of preparation at church, I keep pausing, with a warm excitement building in my stomach and my heart. I’m thinking of our family baby and our holy Baby. I’m giving intentional focus to the birth of Jesus, the work of our Savior, the glory of our good God. It is quite the feeling to mingle excitement about both babies. I wish you could feel it too. It’s so real…the love, the anticipation.
Here’s an Advent wish for you – that the celebration of the birth of our Jesus would fill you completely with such joy and hope that it becomes an underlying current in your everyday activity. And I pray that once in a while your stomach heats up, your heart warms and excitement bubbles up because your Savior is coming. Feel the reality of His advent.
