Gentle

I read a devotion on gentleness and asked the Lord for opportunities to be gentle, like Him. After a tough week, I expected another emotionally draining day and focused on work. As the evening wound down, I realized I hadn’t come across any situations that begged for gentleness more than usual. Then the Lord’s peace settled in my spirit. God had been gentle with me all day. My family had a terribly sad week, then the Lord gifted me with a peaceful day. No emergencies at home, the church office was calm, my husband made comfort food for dinner, the Diamondbacks won. How sweet that our Shepherd looks after us with quiet gentleness when we need it. Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” May His gentle rest find you, too, friends. ~Tracy
